Yahrzeit calculator / For shul offices

For shul offices: a decade of yahrzeits on one page

How to use the calculator to prepare yahrzeit cards and reminders for your members.

One card per family

Enter the date of passing and the name, pick 10 or 20 years, and press Print card. The page prints as one clean sheet with the Hebrew date, every yahrzeit and the evening it begins.

Reminders in your calendar

The .ics file adds each yahrzeit from the evening before, with a reminder a week ahead. It opens in Google, Apple and Outlook calendars.

Flagged cases stay flagged

Passings in Adar or on the 30th of a short month carry a note on screen and on the printed card, so the rabbi can confirm the custom before letters go out.

Nothing is stored

Names stay in the browser. Only the date goes to Hebcal for the calculation, and nothing is saved by this site.

A good routine

  1. When a family sits shiva, make the card with the date of passing (tick "after sunset" if it applies).
  2. Print one copy for the family and one for the office file, and add the .ics file to the office calendar.
  3. If the card shows a note about Adar or the 30th, ask the rabbi which day the family will keep before the first reminder.

Find the yahrzeit dates

The Hebrew date of passing, the next ten yahrzeits with the evening each begins, a calendar file and a printable card.
